Top Prospect of the Year
Author: Paul Adcock

This year in fantasy football will be much like last year and also much like next year. Some things will change, and some will stay the same. More likely than not, the Patriots are going to be very good next year, and the Cardinals will probably suck. Being quite early in the Fantasy Football year, this article will throw out some names that might end up being the biggest stud in Fantasy Football this year.

P. Manning - There is no question that Manning will be an awesome fantasy football player this year. I am sure that he will be one of the best, if not the best, QBs in the league. He will no doubt be an awesome pick if you do get him. Tops in the league for 2005, I don't think his value will be as great as some of the other left to come. One of the main reasons for this is because of the year he had last year. Harrison is getting older and all the teams he plays this year will have had that much extra time to work up a defense to slow him down. He won't be stopped be he'll fall back to the pack some.

L. Tomlinson - Last year was an incredible year for the chargers. This year may be the same, but its hard to tell this early in the year. L.T. barring injuries will be an absolute stud once again this year. He should continue to grow and excel in the NFL.

S. Alexander - Alexander has continued to grow in Seattle. I think he will continue to do so. He will match his stats from last year and may even exceed them. There is no sign from anyone in the Seahawk franchise that they will teach thier recievers to catch. That means when they get down to the goalline they will contiunally hand the ball off to Alexander.
21TDs 1,611yds

P. Holmes - Holmes could easily be the best player in the league this year. The big question is whether the now 32 year old can stay healthy. If the old man can stay healthy he will most likely score something like 64TDs this year. He has a nose for the endzone like no one else ever in the history of the NFL. Last year he was third in the league with 14 rushing scores. L.T. had 17... of course L.T. did play SEVEN more games then Holmes. Like I said if he can stay healthy he would be my choice to the the stud of the year.

D. Culpepper - Ahh the Vikings. Culpepper had a great season last year. The best season of his career. This year I think he will be in for a big surprise. Life without Randy Moss will be hard on Culpepper. He will no longer have that guy in the endzone who will catch any pass thrown within ten feet of him. Moss was a talent far beyond anyone on his team and possibly anyone in the league. The vikings will be hard pressed to replace him and because of that Culpepper's numbers will suffer.

R. Moss - The Oakland Raiders are the proud new owners of a huge talent... and a huge headache in Randy Moss. Considering that Moss may be one of the best wideouts in NFL history he should do well in Oak Town. He will start a little slow at the beginning of the season, but the more him and K. Collins get to work together the more Moss will fall into a rhythm. When that happens I think Moss will fall right back into step where he was last year.
13TDs 1,339yds

T. Owens - After last years effort T.O. should do very well again next year. If he can manage to stay healthy he could easily lead all recievers in TDs and yardage this year. As long as he keeps his mouth shut and sticks to the team plan he will go far this year.
15TDs 1,447yds

D. McNabb - He should see a continuation of what he did last year. If T.O. doesn't become too much of a pain in the rump that is. If T.O. start making himself a distraction then things could disintegrate quickly. I think T.O. will stir up a bit of a storm this year, but nothing to frazzle McNabb.
34TDs 3,614yds

A. Green - He remains to confuse and boggle many. In '03 he had 20TDs last year he had only 10TDs. There wasn't much that changed in Green Bay from '03 to '04 if that is so then why did his TD output and yardage output change so much. Couple of things maybe make a difference. Javon Walker's breakout year. In '03 Favre had an injured thumb much of the year. That being said Green is a hard one to predict. He should still be a great back but he could go anywhere from 10TDs to 20TDs?
14TDs 1,669yds

E. James - James is finally back to his full Fantasy Football glory. He is all the way healed up and shining as one of the brightest spots of the football universe. He does have a problem though, that being a QB who throws 49 TDs. When the colts get into the redzone they tend not to run, but throw instead. He will become more a part of the offense this year as defensive coordinators figure out ways to stop Manning.
13TDs 1,559yds

That is just a look at any of the many players that could rise to the top of the Fantasy Football crop this year. I know that I left out some big names, but c'mon... I'm not a novel writer. Feel free to post on the message boards and leave your opinions.
